(And get the software - and 2 years of Web Features free!)
This Beta-test version is free to toy train enthusiasts who wish to help by using and testing this early version of the program. If the reponse is positive, and I distribute a full, commercial version, Beta-testers will be entitled to a free upgrade to the commercial product.
Web features & Online Store (The option to upload your inventory to the Inventory Express server and view it on the web, or create a personal Online Store) are included free for two years as well.
Please keep in mind...
This is a Beta (test) version of the program. There may well be bugs.
To use the software for more than 30 days -- and to use the web features -- you will need to register the software. There is no charge for Beta-Testers to register.
Please report any bugs, unexpected behavior, or desired additional features to Support@InventoryExpress.xyz. In fact, comments or suggestions - positive or otherwise, are welcome -- and encouraged.
I am a toy train collector (with a day-job). Developing and distributing Inventory Express is an offshoot of my hobby -- and a one-man operation. I can provide support only by e-mail at the above link. I will respond to all queries as soon as resonably possible.
Mac users...
Inventory Express is a Windows 10 application. Like all Windows 10 apps, it will run on a Mac only if the Mac computer has Virtual Machine software installed along with the Windows 10 operating system.
Inventory Express has been tested on a MacBook Pro with VMWare Fusion Virtual Machine software running Windows 10, and works exactly as it does on a PC. If you don't already have a Windows Virtual Machine installed on your Mac, be aware that installing a VM can be tricky, and isn't free. VM software and a Windows 10 license will cost $125 and up depending on the software you choose.
Installation Instructions
You can install the software either as a new installation, or as an upgrade to an existing installation. It will not overwrite any of your existing data.
If you are currently using/testing any version prior to 1.4.4, an upgrade to upgrade to the current version is recommended. It contains a number of additional features and bug fixes. You can check your current version number by clicking "Help-About" from the Main Menu.
If upgrading from an earlier version of Inventory Express, back up your data before proceeding outside of the Inventory Express directory structure - just in case something goes awry. There is no need to uninstall any previous version.
Click the button at the bottom of this page to download the software and save it to the default directory.
Unzip the file by clicking "Extract" and then "Extract All" in Windows File Explorer.
Then double-click on InventoryExpress_Installer.exe to install.
Complete the installation by clicking through the regular "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" (Yes), and installation prompts. The default values are fine in all cases.
Register the software to receive a registration key to fully enable the program. (Free for Beta-testers.) You will then need to enter your registration number and license key in the Inventory Express Options window (the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of the program window).
When you first open the program, please go to "Help" on the main menu, and browse through the help topics. All necessary instructions can be found there.
